Discussions, Seminars, Radio Shows
The Freedom Institute's discussions and seminars help frame public perceptions on issues concerning the strengthening of democracy, civil liberties, and the market economy.

Support for these programs comes from various groups, particularly academic entities such as student organizations who often ask to be involved in conducting these events. To extend such collaboration, we sponsor student groups at local universities through our student outreach program, which assists with on-campus discussions and seminars.

To supplement the public discussions and seminars, which are usually held at our office in the residential area of Menteng, we have since May 2005 produced a pre-recorded 30-minute radio show every week.

The program airs every Monday morning in Jakarta and is broadcast by over 40 radio stations across the country. "Forum Freedom" is available from 8:30am to 9:00am at Radio 68H FM89.2. It contains a variety of interviews with the country's most noted liberal intellectuals.

We are currently preparing the print edition of the program, which we plan to publish in August 2006. "Forum Freedom" is generously sponsored by the Friedrich Naumann Stiftung, a foundation that is also committed to supporting several of our other programs.

The Freedom Institute's diverse intellectual forums reflect our belief in the power of liberal ideas to shape the future progress of Indonesia in this age of globalization.
